After months of brainstorming, planning, and organizing logistics, we moved full throttle all last week into our in-person FOCUS GROUPS throughout New Castle, Kent, and Sussex counties.

With the organizational help of our Community Engagement Captains, we conducted 12 in-depth, in-person meetings engaging artists, city, county, and state elected and appointed officials, creative business owners, nonprofit administrators, leaders in tourism, education, economic development, and other related sectors.

Participants included young people, seniors, students, and an inspiring mix of diverse geographic representation, ethnicities, and emerging and established artists from a variety of artistic disciplines. Each focus group was asked to envision and share their ideas on how we could strengthen Delaware’s creative economy. The open dialogue produced lively discussions about Delaware’s existing artistic strengths and examined areas for improvement.
